Disclosure of General Business Relationships

Acorn strives for transparency in our services. We see it as an important value and want to provide as full a disclosure as possible. None of the following professional connections are believed to create any inherent conflicts of interest, although if you or your attorney believe there might be a specific issue in your case created by these associations we want you to have that information up front. Please check the CV of the clinician with whom you are working to determine their particular relationships. These are located on their biographical page online.

Contractors

Our clinicians and other team members contract with Acorn to provide them with access to a high quality website, our Social Media Marketing and networking systems, our offices and office equipment, and most use our policies and procedures. Each contractor sets their own hours and while they are all play trained, they may not be specialists in any one group.

We contract with Therapy Appointment, Ring Central, and Google to provide HIPAA compliant services. We follow the guidelines these companies set out so that our clients’ privacy is protected.

We are also contractors for Children in the Middle, a court ordered family stabilization class owned by Brad Craig and run by Between Two Homes LLC. Some school districts, Denton ISD and Lake Dallas ISD have contracted with Acorn to provide professional development services and specialized counseling services.

Short Term Renters

MaryAnn Kildebeck rents office space at Acorn. Her business relationship with Acorn Counseling Education Services is as a renter and our businesses are completely separate.

Organizations

Our clinicians are active in our community. We work with Blessed By Networking, EMDRIA, the Early Childhood Coalition, C7, Collaborative Divorce Denton County, New Ways For Families, Collaborative Divorce Texas, Texas Play Therapy Association, Association of Play Therapy, Texas Association of Family Forensics, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts [AFCC]. We use rooms at the United Way of Denton County for our Children In The Middle Class but do not have a financial relationship with UWDC. We support several area non-profits such as Solutions of North Texas, First Refuge, and Refuge for Women but we do not have ongoing financial relationships with them.
