Marriage is a monumental event in most people’s lives. The coming together of two people to share hopes and aspirations, to love and honor one another, and to build a sense of purpose and meaning together is exciting and creates a myriad of possibilities for the couple’s future together. These hopes all too often turn to frustrations, however, as the responsibilities and demands of life and relationships inevitably mount. For many couples, the adjustment goes well, and their bond deepens from year to year. Sadly, however, far too many marriages end in divorce or in separate lives under the same roof.
